Kathleen Bryant was only six months old when her parents bundled her up for her first road trip West, and she's been exploring the region's mountains and canyons ever since. An avid hiker and history buff, she has volunteered for the forest service, leading visitors on tours of ruins and rock art in the Sedona area. She has written eleven books, inlcuding Kokopelli's Gift, an award-winning children's story, and the Western National Parks' Lodges Cookbook, which combines her love of travel with history and recipes from historic park lodges. She has also written for American Archaeology, American Artist, Arizona Highways, Sunset, and other magazines.
